Sue Hughes (hhtp://bearhousecreations.blogspot.com) has done it again! Her stunning free gift cards have us wishing for hot sticky nights watching Wimbledon or having picnics in the park. We guarantee once you’ve seen her feature in the magazine, you’ll be eager to try the gifts for yourself.

Also in this issue is an incredible feature inspired by journaling. Prima Marketing has recently released a striking collection of My Prima Planners and Travel Journals, and we’re in love! How can you not become obsessed with these products?

The journal spreads in the magazine are stunning, but typically for Simply Cards & Papercraft we wanted to find a way to combine journaling with cardmaking, and so we asked Sharon Laakkonen to inspired us with her cardmaking projects. Using the watercolour sheets she was easily designed two stunning cards! But in the interest of covering all bases, we couldn’t resist showing you these products in the planners too! Here we’ve got Sharon’s bonus design, where she’s incorporated the watercolour sheet in her planner…

Watercolor planner pages

by Sharon Laakkonen

Sharon says: “Try carring the gorgeous colour palette from my cards in the magazine over to your planner with My Prima Planner's watercolor page dividers! Just paint away, dry, and add to your planner for a customised touch that is sure to be a delight every time you open your planner. Try sprucing up your pages with watercolor accents created with My Prima Planner's new die sets! Cut out from watercolor paper, then color away to create beautiful planner clips, hole reinforcers and so much more.

Simply make

1 Prep watercolor page a section at a time with a touch of water, this will help the colour to slide around better.

2 Add one color at a time to design, drying in between each to avoid muddying the colors. Layer colors within a family by using more or less water, mixing in the watercolor tin wells. Swirl your brush tip around to create a whimsical colour pattern on large flowers.

3 Once design is colored, choose contrasting colour for the backdrop. Dilute watercolour, pick up with brush, tap the brush pver the page to create ‘spatters’ across the card front.

4 Die-cut butterfly clips and hole reinforcers from watercolor paper and add watercolours to each, allow to dry and adhere all onto the page as shown to finish.

Top tip

Choose three or four colors for the page so it doesn't look too busy. I chose pink, mint, and blue as my main choices
