Papercraft Essentials 156 sneak peek!

Issue 156 of Papercraft Essentials hits the shelves on 8th February and with less than a week to go we thought we'd share our next free gift with you.

Coming up in issue 156 is one of my favourites! If, like me, you're getting a bit bored of all this cold, wet and miserable weather then this free gift is definitely one for you. This month you'll receive the amazing Pretty Quick Scenescape embossing folder and 18-piece stamp set so you can create adventurous designs for birthdays, retirements and so much more!

Simonne Clay went to the ends of the earth to create these stunning cards for us, showcasing all of the designs you can achieve with your free gifts and demonstrating her fantastic colouring skills. Head to page 86 to see more ideas.

If that's not enough, with Sue Hughes's bright and bold cards we have everything from easels to rockers to simple tent-fold designs that are perfect for masculine makes. Check out her ideas from page 15.

Also this issue, you can discover how to faux-emboss your designs using dies in our Beginner's Guide on page 36. Follow Christine Smith's step-by-step guide and simple instructions PLUS get a surprise discount code from CraftStash! Here's a little sneak peek just for you...

Step by step

1 Follow the step-by-step guide on page 39 to create the background using two filigree heart dies from the Love and Marriage die set.

2 Die-cut a large heart from vellum and another of the filigree hearts from white cardstock. Die-cut ‘cheers’ and the champagne glasses from white cardstock and a couple of extra pink and red hearts. Apply co-ordinating colours of Nuvo mousse to the die-cuts using your finger.

3 Trim the background into a heart shape then cover using Royal Aubergine Nuvo Mousse, pressing it into all the nooks and crannies.

4 Layer up the large hearts to the left-hand side of the background panel, adding the white heart in front of the vellum one as shown. Cut a fishtail-shaped banner from green cardstock and add Nuvo Mousse.

5 Attach the remaining die-cut elements and hearts to the panel as shown. Trim the card blank into a heart-shape slightly larger than the background panel then attach the panel to the card front to finish.

*Top tip*

Use a heart die to create the shaped background panel and card blank if you have one

Spoiler alert... this month we've also got a super competition from Tutti Designs where you can win one of THREE prize bundles of dies worth £150 each! Turn to page 24 in the magazine to find out more

Don't forget that to create the fab four-fold designs from page 32 you'll need a template which you can download from here.
