BONUS ideas & inspiration

Katy Sue Designs provided so many ideas for the Spotlight on… Fabulous Giftware in issue 49, that we couldn’t fit them all in the magazine….

For both projects

Fabulous Giftware CD-ROM

white cardstock

bone folder

Flower Soft glue

fine-tipped scissors

Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink (optional)

hole punch

craft knife

double-sided tape

Triangle box

1 Print the required A4 sheet from the Fabulous Giftware CD.

2 Score along the lines provided before you cut out the sheet.

3 Cut the centre triangle aperture from the design sheet using a craft knife and stick double-side tape to the edges on the inside.

4 Take the backing off the tape and affix a slightly larger triangle from acetate.

5 Fold back the scored lines and secure double-sided tape and wet glue.

6 Hold sides A and B together and punch a hole in it as shown. Thread ribbon through it, and embellish the box front as shown.

3D dress & envelope

1 Select the design sheet you wish to use from the CD. Print out the 3D dress envelope front, dress envelope back onto white cardstock and cut out. Fold along the lines as instructed on the design sheet.

2 Score and cut all of the lines on both sides of the envelope as instructed on the print outs.

3 Print three of the 3D dresses onto white cardstock and cut out each dress, checking it will fit in the envelope. Score and fold along all of the lines.

4 Fold one dress down the centre and apply a wet glue right up to the edges of one half. Fold the second dress and adhere to the first, being careful to ensure they line up. Repeat for the third dress.

5 Trim off any white edges – if you prefer you could touch up any unwanted overlaps with a Distress Ink.

6 Apply double-sided tape to the folded edges of the envelope. Remove the backing from bottom fold of the envelope and affix it to the other half of the envelope. Trim the dress to fit inside the envelope if necessary.

7 Remove the backing off the remaining tape and glue down the edges to finish.

This 3D dress can be used as ring caddy – be sure to use good quality cardstock to give it a more sturdy and professional-looking finish
