Christine Smith has so inspired by this gift that she made too many cards for us to put into Papercraft Essentials magazine! We’ve shared them with you so you can see just how cute they are!

Her ‘Make a wish’ card uses rich, night-time colours to make a fabulous fairy dream world. She used a clear Crafter’s Companion Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen  to get that otherworldly shimmer.

Step by step

1 Cut a piece of white cardstock to measure 10cm square. Create a mottled night sky effect using a few colours of Distress Stain.

2 To do this, spray the cardstock with water first then dab the colours onto the surface of the cardstock. To give a subtle glittery effect flick some clear sparkle pen into the wet ink, and allow your background to dry.

3 Use the fairy and dandelion clock stamps to create your scene. Also stamp the fairy onto the corner of your card so that the image is continuous from the coloured panel.

4 Add the panel to the cardstock using 3D foam pads and add a sketchy border to frame the scene.

5 Finally use a clear sparkle pen on the fairy’s wings and add a few dots of white gel pen to break up the background colour and tie it in with the white cardstock.

Christine’s bright and cheerful ‘It’s your birthday’ card has an adorable fairy door. We absolutely love the cute snail – we wish we could pop him on every card! This project used Letraset ProMarkers to get those gorgeous shades.

Step by step

1 Cut a piece of white cardstock to a 10cm square. Stamp the fairy door towards the bottom right of the panel, and use a black pen to add in the ground.

2 Use a mixture of warm grey ProMarkers to create a brick wall effect. Simply use the lighter colour to draw on rectangles and add shading to give extra depth. Add a sentiment.

3 Stamp, colour and cut out the other images and arrange them to create a scene. Don’t forget to add the cute snail to go with the custom sentiment.

4 To tie the blue from the flowers in with the rest of the card, add a 10.5cm square of cornflower blue cardstock behind your focal topper.

5 Use a clear sparkle pen and white gel pen to add finishing touches to the card.
