Die-cutting Essentials 26 sneak peek!

Issue 26 of Die-cutting Essentials hits the shelves on Thursday 6th July and this month’s FREE Happy Days die and stamp set is just what you need to kick-start you summer crafting!

As always the team has been hard at work to bring you the very latest from the die-cutting world, and this issue we have brand-new ranges from Xcut, Marianne Design and Richard Garay to inspire you, plus an exclusive look at the brand-new releases from Sizzix – you’ll be so inspired, you won’t be able to stop papercrafting!

This month we’re bringing you a totally tropical Happy Days stamp and die set, which is so versatile that we decided to bring you three fab free gift features to inspire you!

Our stylish cover cards were made by Simonne Clay and Christine Smith, who are demonstrating makes for men and women, while Sandra Rayner uses our fabulous free dies to create home décor and gift ideas to really get the party started over on page 70 of the magazine.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Happy Days collection, it’s just so handy for creating quick cards for all occasions. In this issue we have gorgeous gifts, masculine makes and stylish cards for women using our free gift, so I thought I’d take it a step further to create a traditional Christmas card! This might be the first year that I start my Christmas crafting before December!

3 Die-cut the word ‘Happy’ red cardstock, adhere it into the wreath and stamp the rest of the sentiment below as shown.

4 Die-cut leaves from red and green cardstock using the Spellbinders set, ink the red die-cuts and build a poinsettia onto the card front as shown. Add a gem to finish.

This issue we’re thrilled to be showcasing the new 3D Embossing Folder collection! Soraya Lara from the Crafter’s Companion Design Team made her Die-cutting Essentials debut with stunning cards for women. Here’s a beautiful bonus card to inspire you.

1 Emboss a piece of watercolour paper, colour areas of the design using Aqua Markers, matt the panel onto silver mirror card and then onto the card front.

2 Use the adhesive pen to add highlights to areas of the design, and leave to become tacky. Apply foil to the tacky areas, rub and remove the backing to reveal the foil.

3 Stamp the sentiment onto a white die-cut oval, mount it onto a gold-foiled die-cut oval and affix it to the card front using 3D foam pads to finish.

Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for issue 27, which hits the shelves on 3rd August and comes complete with the Finest Vintage die set! Pop that date in your diary!

Until next time, happy die-cutting!
