Creative Stamping 50th issue sneak peek!

Creative Stamping issue 50 hits the shelves on 9th November, so pop the date in your diary!

We’re celebrating our special 50th of Creative Stamping with an exclusive Hunkydory stamp set! Our wonderful Winter Warmers collection features on-trend animals in winter knits, festive accents and heart-warming sentiments that are perfect for all-occasion projects – including last-minute Christmas cards!


As ever, the team has been hard at work to bring you inspiring ideas using your free stamp set, plus all the latest releases from the stamping world! Including brand-new ranges from IndigoBlu, Avery Elle and Stampin’ Up which will have you making cards into the new year!

This issue, Christine Smith takes it back to basics with an introduction to Distress Ink backgrounds. Christine’s bold rainbow-inspired designs couldn’t be easier, and really make silhouette stamps pop! Christine wowed us with her ideas, and there simply wasn’t room for all six – so we’ve got her bonus card here for you!

How to create

1 Blend Spiced Marmalade ink across the bottom of a 14cm square of white cardstock, then apply each ink in turn working upwards to create an ombré effect.

2 Use a black pigment ink to stamp silhouette images onto the background as shown and mount it onto the card front.

3 Stamp the sentiment ad shown, complete the sentiment with a DYMO label. Add accents to the design using a black pen to finish.

Next up, we have a fabulous card from Kim Dellow’s Technique feature, in which Kim shows you how to stamp onto fabric to create Scandi-inspired projects. These festive makes are ideal for all-occasions and you can use a range of different mediums to colour in your fabric designs.

1 Treat a piece of calico and red fabric with the Terial Magic following the manufacturer’s recommendations.

2 Cut a panel of red cardstock to fit the card blank and a piece of calico fabric to fit the red panel.

3 Stamp the bear in the centre of the fabric panel using Vermillion ink then stamp the rest of the stamps to make a Scandinavian-style fabric design.

4 Stamp the jumper onto red fabric and the bear on tracing paper. Line up the tracing paper bear over the jumper image and use it to guide cutting out the jumper around the bear’s feet.

5 Stamp a present onto fabric, colour it with the pencils then cut it out. Layer up the card front with the cardstock panel, fabric panel and jumper using double-sided tape and add the present using 3D foam pads.

In this issue, Mel Jess went to town to create super-cute Christmas gift ideas using our Winter Warmers stamp set. Mel made custom gift wrap, candycane tags, hot choccie baubles and an amazing Igloo centerpiece.
