Die-cutting Essentials Special Edition 9 BONUS step-by-step guide

If you like die-cutting, you will LOVE the new issue of Die-cutting Essentials Special Edition.

It’s our ninth box kit – on sale from Thursday April 4th – and it’s devoted to all of life’s biggest and best celebrations!

Inside, you’ll find cards for every major life event from christenings to engagements, save the dates to weddings and even ideas for gifts, whether they’re got the bride and groom from you as a guest – or you’re the one giving gifts to your bridesmaids and maid of honour!

The kit in the box is worth £40 and includes: a 68-page magazine, an intricate two-die heart set, radiating hearts embossing folder, 23-piece stamp set and exclusively designed  72-item paper and topper pack.

One of our favourite designers Ingrid Vichova made five gorgeous cards using the paper-piecing technique. The feature has a really easy-t0-follow step by step in the magazine, but we’ve decided to share a special BONUS guide here just for you.

SIMPLY MAKE

1 Apply the Oxide inks onto the card front in a colour gradient, inking from the centre outwards, then mist with the Sheer spray and set it aside to dry.

2 Die-cut the intricate heart with the outline three times – one in white, one in black and one in gold Mirri card.

3 When you die cut the Mirri heart, keep it in the die, apply tiny amounts of glue to each tiny negative piece, flip the die with the glue side onto the card front and use your pokey tool to release the tiny pieces. You will be able to easily adhere the outline and the negative pieces at once with ease.

4 Cut off the word ‘love’, the flowers, rings and glasses from the black filigree heart and adhere them in place on the gold filigree heart on the card front. Add shimmer to these pieces with the Sparkle pens and add Crystal Glaze over the top and allow to dry, then add the stamped sentiment on the card front to finish.

Top tip: make your paper-pieced areas stand out by adding shimmer and/or gloss on top

SBS1:

1 Apply Oxide inks to the card front, mist with the Sheer spray and set aside to dry.

2 Die-cut the white and gold heart with the filigree centres.

3 While the gold Mirri heart is still in the die, add liquid glue to the negative pieces and the outline.

4 Flip the die upside down on top of the card front and poke the tiny pieces out through the die, then adhere the white filigree heart and fill any missed gaps.

5 Die-cut the black filigree heart.

6 Select a few elements on the filigree heart and cut them off neatly.

7 Adhere the cut off elements onto the gold heart on the card front.

8 Add shimmer to the elements using the Sparkle pen.

9 Add Crystal Glaze on top of the added elements to make them stand out even more
