How to… make concertina cards

Trim a 10.5×6.75”cardstock paneland score along the long edge at 1.75”,3.5”,5.25”,7” and 8.75” then rotate and score the short edge at 1.75” and 5.25” from the first score line to the last score line.

Using a craft knife and ruler trim away the inside rectangle starting from the 1.75” score line to the 8.75” score line to leave a scored frame piece – this is the outer concertina piece.

Make a cut 7/8”,halfway between each scored square on the frame top and bottom.

Trim another piece of cardstockto measure 4.75×7” and score along the long edge at 1.75”, 3.5” and 5.25”. Slot into the concertina piece as shown.

If you’re happy, decorate the cardstock with patterned, leaving a narrow border on each panel. Add adhesive to the end panels of the outer concertina piece. Adhere the concertina pieces to the inside of a 7×5”card blank as shown.

Die-cut four solid white butterflies and overlay with red filigree butterflies, then adhere the butterflies to the inner concertina piece. Die-cut two white Prim Poppies and adhere one to each end panel. Slot the inner concertina piece into the slots on the outer piece. Decorate the front and back of the decorated card blank.Add a layered die-cut ‘happy’ and stamped ‘birthday’ sentiment on the card front. Adhere the concertina pieces to the inside of the card to finish.
