The new issue of Die-cutting Essentials is on sale on Thursday September 27th and we think it might be our best yet!

Issue 57 comes with our first-ever die from Memory Box and there are two fab features using the dies which you’ll love.

MATERIALS

Cricut Explore, Air or Maker machine

SIMPLY MAKE

1 Log in to your Design Space account and make sure you are connected to your Cricut machine. Open the image library, search for ‘snowman’ and select image #M9F7B7F6. Ungroup the Image.

2 Open the contour tool and contour away each piece of text.  Open the text tool.  Filter Fonts to Cricut and Writing.For the first line of text select the font DJ Flirt.  For the second line of text, select the font Felix.

3 Arrange the Image and text. Group the snowman back together.  Select the alignment tool and align centre horizontally.  Change the line type for fonts and image to deboss.

4 Attach everything together.  Create a square to fit into your frame.  Place it behind your image and text.  Draw a box around them all.  Open the allignment tool and allign to centre.  Attach everything together.  Continue to Make It.

5 Select all materials.  You will only be able to select materials compatible with the Cricut Maker debossing tip.  Select Cricut Foil Poster Board.  You will be prompted to add the debossing tip to the quickswap housing and place into Clamp B.  You will be reminded that the premium fine point blade is required to cut the Foil Poster Board.  Add the Cricut Foil Poster Board to a blue light grip mat.

6 Insert the mat into the Cricut Maker.  Seboss and cut.  Once finished remove from the mat by turning the mat over and carefully removing.  Add the finished design to a frame.

SIMPLY MAKE

1 Log in to your Design Space account and make sure you are connected to your Cricut machine. Open the image library, search for ‘Christmas Tree’ and Insert Image #ME06115B.

2 Open the Text Tab.  Filter to Cricut Fonts and Has Writing Style.  Select Girly Stencil.

3 Type Text and Edit style to writing.  Add a Circle shape the size of your acrylic shape and use as a template for size. Adjust text and image.

4 Attach the Image and text together.  Continue to Make it and select Snap Mat.

5 Add the acrylic shape to a green standard grip mat and tape down using masking tape.  Use the snapmat feature to capture the shape on the mat.

6 Once the snap is taken you can move your design onto the image to place it where you would like.

7 Select continue and all Materials.  You will only be able to select materials compatible with the Cricut Maker Engraving Tip.  Select Thick Acrylic. You will only ne able to engrave the acrylic and not cut it.  You will be prompted to add the Engraving Tip and Quick Swap housing into the the B Clamp.

8 Insert the Mat into the Cricut Maker and start Engraving.  Once finished remove the mat and blow on the shape to remove any debris.  Once removed from the mat use a soft fluffy paint brush to remove smaller debris shards.  Add to a led light base.
