With love by Marie Jones

kit dies, embossing folder & paper pack
white 13x18cm card blank
white & burgundy cardstock
Shabby Shutters & Peeled Paint Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink
blending tool & foam
3D glue gel
3D foam pads
manual die-cutting machine

Step by step
1 Cover the card front with patterned paper, leaving a narrow border.
2 Emboss a piece of white cardstock, trim to the edge of the embossing and matt onto burgundy cardstock.
3 Die-cut a tree from white cardstock using the inner and outer tree. Place the dies together on the card and hold in place with low-tack tape and die-cut. Keep all of the pieces.
4 Blend Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Ink over the main tree and attach onto the embossed panel. Add the remaining pieces from the die-cut using 3D glue gel to look like snow on the tree.
5 Attach the panel to card front using 3D foam pads. Cut out a sentiment from the paper pack and adhere to the top of the card front. Add gemstones to the embossed panel to finish.

Use 3D glue gel to attach the ‘snow’ pieces to the tree for extra dimension

’tis the season by Lou Sims

You’ll need
kit dies & stamp set
white smooth cardstock
Freehand Stitched Rectangle Layering dies
Tuscan Gold Nuvo Expanding Mousse
Fusion Red & Forest Green Nuvo Embellishment Mousse
Black Shadow & Acorn Brown Nuvo Hybrid inkpads
Powdered Peach, Pistachio Green, Soft Suede & Sliced Strawberry Nuvo Diamond Hybrid inkpads
Obsidian Black Nuvo Aqua Flow pen
Nuvo Blending Dauber
Craft Perfect twine
Kraft & Jet Black Craft Perfect cardstock
white Posca pen
black 0.5mm Micron pen

Step by step
1 Die-cut a rectangle of white cardstock. Using a dauber, cover the background with a mottled layer of Powdered Peach, Green Pistachio and Soft Suede ink. Stamp images and a sentiment over your background using Acorn Brown ink.
2 Using Expanding Mousse and a dauber, add a thin layer of mousse around the edges. Once dry, ink the edges with Acorn Brown then Black Shadow ink.
3 Die-cut two trees from white cardstock, adding detail to one. Colour, stamp as per the background, stick together and add Embellishment Mousse. Stick the tree to the left-hand side of your background, cutting away any excess.
4 Use an Aqua Flow pen to add shadow detail both in and around the tree. Blend out as necessary.
5 Stamp snowflakes onto the tree and the background using Sliced Strawberry ink, plus a few small stars using Black Shadow ink.
6 Doodle a stitched border around the card edge using black and white pens, following the detail placed by the layering dies, to create faux stitching. Doodle another faux-stitched line from the top-right corner to just above the tree. Add white pen highlights.
7 Take a sentiment stamp and gently curve it to sit above the faux-stitched line. Add to an acrylic block and stamp using Black Shadow ink.
8 Die-cut baubles from black cardstock and embellish with Embellishment and Expanding Mousse. Add to the faux stitched-line to appear as if hanging it.
9 Matt the panel onto black cardstock, wrap twine around the bottom tie in a knot. Die-cut a star from white cardstock and embellish with Expanding Mousse, then fix to the twine knot. Create a card blank slightly larger than the completed topper then attach.

How to create a layered embossed Christmas tree by Bibi Cameron

1 Emboss a piece of white smooth cardstock. Apply any colour of Nuvo Hybrid ink over the raised areas of the embossed cardstock.

2 Trim around the Christmas tree silhouette. Apply Clear Mark Nuvo ink over the raised areas of the cardstock.

3 Add any colour of embossing powder and heat-emboss.

4 Repeat the process two or three times to create pieces to layer the tree. Apply Nuvo Shimmer Pen over the trees to add more sparkle.

5 Cut the bottom part of the embossed trees and adhere it under the main tree. Embellish and attach to your project.
